Hello, dears! If until now I was addressing ladyes only, I just launched a new project called HOMME HELP, specially dedicated to menswear.

It is a project that I have been thinking about for quite some time, but for about 2 months I started working on it. Hence I read and document as much as I could (P.S. a new book for men’s style is on the way to me also, I recently started the Menswear Personal Stylist course on London College of Style). Initially, I would have wanted to launch this new section on 2nd of June, during the Sartoria d’alta moda event, because that event was cancelled I also put this project on hold.

HOMME HELP (Male Style) will not necessarily be about the latest trends, it is rather intended to be the alphabet of a good taste. An informative guide where you will find information quickly and easily.

Why the need for such a section? Here are some 3 reasons:

I noticed around me that the well-dressed gentlemen from the old-time disappeared, many of the “modern” men do not even know the simplest rules of style;
I was asked by some gentlemen to initiate such a project because men, unlike us, do not have the patience to look for information on hundreds of sites and in dozens of magazines;
I consider the project a niche, at least in Romania there are not many blogs for men and those that exist have an exclusive public. I do not address those who know how to dress or to those who follow the latest trends. I address to the many, those who find it difficult to get out of the t-shirt and jeans, those who buy their suit too big, too small or those who have not heard of the polo shirt.

And because I was so elated with the introduction, I chose for the first article a shorter topic: the tie knot.

The tie is an accessory that complements the outfit, has an aesthetic role and gives a noble air and an extra elegance of the wearer.

Regarding the techniques of making tie knots, I will get straight to the point, more than that I will let the sketches and images speak for themselves.

In this article, we will learn or we will remember how to make the tie knot

I admit that until I started the research for this article I knew only the simple knot now I can show off with other types too :). Although some have a high level of difficulty, the effort will pay off big time. You will arouse the envy and admiration of those around you!

Types of tie knots

In addition to the types of knots in the image below, we have introduced three types as a bonus, as such:

Tie knots

Some aspects to consider:

Large or elaborate knots are suitable for special occasions;
Large tie knots are suitable for ties made of thin fabric such as silk;
For formal occasions it is preferable to limit yourself to a simple, medium-sized knot;
When choosing the type of tie knot, you must consider the opening of the collar from the shirt, the width of the tie as well as the print on the tie;
As for the length – the tie must meet the belt from the trousers. DO NOT overlap with it, nor leave a gap between the two accessories;

Next time we will talk about: How to pick the perfect suit – the suit guide.
